Putting Creighton Bluejay partnership in lights

How do you shine a spotlight on a bank’s support of the hometown team?

As a long-time fan of the Creighton University Bluejays, First National Bank wanted a 30 second television commercial that would underscore its longstanding relationship with Creighton.

 

It needed visual impact that would also make fellow Creighton fans feel great.

With key message in hand, the Daake team developed concepts and partnered with production teams to create a spot that used subtle, and not so subtle, queues to bring First National Bank and the Creighton Bluejays together.

Through visual storytelling, the television commercial follows a bank employee as he works his way through the First National Bank tower in downtown Omaha, installing blue bulbs.

Adding clarity to the spot, Creighton’s mascot, Billy Bluejay, steps up to a large electrical box and flips the lever. First, the workman’s face gradually takes on a blue hue, then the entire building glows Creighton blue, and a multi-story “C” appears in the middle of the building.

 

The spot finishes with the words, “First National Bank. The official bank of the Creighton Bluejays.”

The spot brought First National Bank’s pride, commitment and excitement for the Creighton Bluejays to life in a way that any true-blue fan can relate to, and appreciate.
